Chinese Cars In Africa
In the first half of 2024, China exported 158,000 automobiles to Africa, up 53% year on year. As an important market for China's automobile exports, Africa has great potential, especially under the Belt and Road Initiative, economic cooperation is deepening. Commercial vehicles and new energy vehicles have become the main breakthrough direction for Chinese automobile enterprises.

Commercial Vehicles
Chinese commercial vehicles have a strong performance in the African market, mainly sold to South Africa, Morocco, Egypt and other countries. These countries have good economic growth and a relatively mature automotive market infrastructure, and Chinese automobile enterprises have won the market by virtue of high cost-effectiveness, reliable quality and technical advantages. In addition, automobile enterprises have promoted win-win development through in-depth cooperation with local governments and enterprises.
New Energy Vehicles
In terms of new energy vehicles, the African market is still dominated by traditional fuel vehicles, but many countries are beginning to promote new energy transformation. Chinese new energy vehicles are gradually gaining recognition in Africa, with export growth of 291% year-on-year in 2023. Brands such as Zeekr, Neta, Xpeng, BYD, Geely, Great Wall Motors and others are actively structuring to carry out localized production and technical cooperation, promoting local infrastructure construction and boosting the electrification process.
