State-of-Health (SoH)

What does SoH mean?

SoH, or State of Health, is an indicator of a battery’s general condition and performance as it ages. It measures how well the battery can retain a charge and provide its full capacity. A battery with a high SoH can maintain a charge longer and will typically last longer compared to a battery with a low SoH. This is the reason why the SoH report is so important, especially when importing and exporting used electric vehicles.

What will affect Battery SoH?

1. Calendar Life: Batteries degrade over time due to chemical reactions, even if not used, affecting SoH.

2. Temperature: High temperatures speed up battery aging, while low temperatures can also impact performance and SoH.

3. Depth of Discharge (DOD):Frequent deep discharges accelerate battery aging compared to shallow discharges.

4. Charging and Discharging Rates: Fast or excessive charging/discharging generates heat, stressing the battery and reducing SoH.

5. Manufacturing quality:Manufacturing Quality: The quality of materials and assembly techniques affect the battery’s SoH and reliability.

Conclusion

When we interact with customers, they are worried about the state of the batteries because they need to consider the safety and utility of used EV cars, whether they will drive by themselves or resell. Therefore, we will a provide professional SoH report to allay customers' fears.
